Gallery 327: Night Run
Do you have New Year's resolution to go jogging more often? Now in winter where it is so dark? Do it and stay safe and visible!
Retroreflective materials always reflect the light back in the direction from which they are illuminated - unlike a mirror. Microscopic glass beads or microprisms incorporated into reflective strips or even
printable inks create a difference in refractive index that cleverly creates internal reflection. Additionally, fluorescent colors such as neon yellow or orange are useful. These convert light from the non-visible UV
range into visible light, thus increasing the luminosity of the garment. It is important to be seen well from all sides and have reflectors everywhere. These should also be as close to the ground as possible (shoes, calves),
as approaching headlights will hit the lower area first. The area at head level is illuminated very late by normal car headlights.
I now have a retro reflective Zentai! Wow, thats soo fun! Unfortunately, the effect is very difficult to capture with the camera. The white walls reflect too much light and fade the effect. And against the real
reflector strips of my high-viz vest or gloves the effect on the Zentai is quite weak. Nevertheless, a super cool effect and in combination with my running gear well visible in the dark ;-)
First image is without the flash from front, 2nd image is with the flash. And on top are my first steps trying to recreate this theme with AI (Anything_v3.0).
